I played around with Androidx86 a bit and I would suggest the Cyanogenmod latest version.
But, read install instructions carefully, it not super easy to install correctly.

There was also another thread in these forum about installing Linux on a tablet, I dont remember the model but the operation results some (most?) of the time in a unusable tablet... backup up the original OS first.

For tablet, I would try the android distro.  Most linux distros do not work well on tablets.

Grab android from

Still looking for a way to have a linux based tablet
The Dell Venue Pro 11 seems to be a possible candidate to convert to linux but reports state the wireless driver can be a problem.
Just wondering whether anyone has tried LL on it?
These are now beginning to appear second hand at reasonable prices.

Thanks

http://www.studioteabag.com/science/dell-venue-pro-linux/    interestingly came across this.  Not sure whether suitable for a linux newbie such as myself though?
would the smaller screen size be really be a problem??
