please i would like to know do i need to change BIOS settings before using Linux Lite? i am using Dell OptiPlex 9020

Actually you will need to disable fast boot, and secure boot, and enable legacy options if you are installing to HDD. See the help manual about installation procedures.

you probably need to change the memory timing settings manually to reach maximum speed.
