The composition; the choice of colors; the textures; the Kawaii meditator; the overall look complementing the subject matter.

I think this try is a success.  :)

Thank You Scott(0) and rbdflyboy for your feedback.

Yes I painted the scenery so it was disjointed to her, as she is daydreaming/meditating/pondering to show the different realities/states.
I didn't use any blur tools on the painting. There were 2 layers the background which I made a gradient then I painted directly onto, and the image I recoloured, I only used a blur tool for about 2 or 3mm of the image of the girl on her hairline where I repaired it from the original image.

One painting I had seen it was horse racing you can see the horses from 10-15ft away and detailed, but from 2-5 feet away it is just blurs of paint, an odd style, I don't understand it, I tried to do this type of painting, without knowing how to, to reflect the change in consciousness.

I just went through all of the default brushes one at a time on sizes from 30 to 14.
Mostly I used "grass", "smoke" and most of the "scatter type brushes".
I also used a lot grass and rake brushes at size 1.0 for getting in between to push forward the background to the middle, and the middle over the top then reblended the top in reduced amounts.

Like the way the left side blurs and the right side sharper. Cool representation of bring balanced on all levels. Kind of like when one is in a relaxed contemplative state, the eyes un focus, only we're still aware.  Nice work.

Hello,
used public domain image of the girl meditating, fixed her hair line as it was broken, fixed her make up as it was half outside her face, recoloured every area of the image 100% in Gimp.
Made the rest myself in Gimp.
Used the pepper brush and put a pepper in her hand as it just seemed nice idea.
