I installed "Amanda" with apt-get install Amanda with out errors. Terminal showed normal installation for a package. It is not in the Menu or ican't find anywhere to load it. Where did it go? :'(

Amanda configuration is not so simple, unfortunately. They have the free version with DIY ideology and the
commercial versions with full support.
I've been using the free version with a HP tape drive.

If you don't use a tape drive, there is - in my opinion - no need to use such sophisticated (and complex) backup solution
as Amanda. Linux Lite has the lightweight 'Timeshift' backup. Have you tried it yet?

Try below for questions. It's CLI in Debian anyway. Don't know that Ubuntu has versioned it at all. Centos and Solaris seem to. This is LL OS forum.

Genegold2... When I went to Debian, there were warnings there that the "standards versions
are outdated." Also errors and warnings mentioned.

Perhaps another program instead? Debian mentioned afbackup and tob

I don't know enough to even guess where the package went, sorry.
