I take it you have already tried to load a driver? If so you'll need to remove it.
Press: Ctrl+Alt+F1 this will drop you to a tty screen, if you need to, login. Then type in: sudo service lightdm stop
Now do: sudo apt-get remove --purge nvidia-* then sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Then do: sudo apt-get install nvidia-current then sudo reboot

Thanks sir Valtam. Ill update you soon got results. thanks again sir.

did you fix this, if so how?

no man, i just give up and let my video card run without the right driver.

bad news is that both the kernels newer than 3.2.0-42 and X servers newer than v12 DESTROY nvidia legacy support. 96/173
nouveau is badly broken, so rendering is broken or very slow <25%
vesa mode is poor
try puppy linux racy or Xubuntu 12.04-4

what about the linux lite 2.0? is it impossible to install the right driver on fx5500?
