I was thinking the same. I am not sure how graphics is being handled in linux. I remember there was a specific driver Bumblebee that handled the laptops. Not sure it is still supported.

I installed the 390 driver rebooted but made no difference. I input: xrandr --output HDMI-1-2 --mode 1920x1080 --rate 120.00  but it does nothing :(
