You may indeed have to set your aspect ratio, etc. each time you connect to your TV.  That is my speculation.

On your other comments, unless you ran the Lite Upgrade utility, you will only be on 3.0, not 3.2.  And without upgrading to 3.2, your kernel will have to be updated using sudo apt-get dist-upgrade, not just sudo apt-get upgrade.

I have a laptop used both for work/study and as a media computer. When I use it as a media computer, I plug it to my TV so that I can watch KODI and various videos on the larger screen. Every time I connect it, I have to re-configure the display so that the TV will show the screen correctly while the laptop's screen will shut down. Is there a way to make Linux Lite save the display configuration so that it will work appropriately upon plugging the TV to my laptop without requiring additional configuration?

(Using Linux Lite 3.0, so with a upgraded Kernel, I think - I did "sudo apt-get upgrade" after 3.2 came out).
