So not sure if this is the right category, but I have HP laptop, AMD GPU, AMD CPU, HP 17-ak001ds . I've connected my TV to the HDMI out on the laptop, but can't get LL to recognize it.Linux Lite 4.0 (GNU/Linux 4.15.0-36-generic x86_64)Any suggestions on what to try? Thanks
sudo grep HDMI /boot/config-$(uname -r)
No additional drivers available NOt sure what you mean not use?
Same no output with different kernels?? Have you checked "Update Drivers" to see if any additional drivers available - or trying "not use"..??..Some additional thoughts...
Looks like a common occurrence.. May want to a different kernel.. Perhaps 4.13?? See last link...Lite Tweaks > Kernel Installer, you may have to choose at boot - from Grub choose advanced options select 4.13 continue boot... Test... If no difference can try others, to go back to 4.15 -- from Grub choose advanced options select 4.15Lots of 18.04 and HDMIhttps://www.google.com/search?q=ubuntu+18.04+hdmi+not+working&rlz=1C1CHZL_enUS719US719&oq=ubuntu+18.04+hdmi+&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0l5.15677j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8Andhttps://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1761751
Have you tried removing nomodeset and removing the hdmi cable from the hdmi port, booting the computer, to the desktop then putting the hdmi cable in to the port ?So the graphics driver loads fully first.
