Actually was thinking more of this one: --disable-gpu
I'm just a tinkerer type not a programmer but I search the internet quite well.
So since I am using VirtualBox I will try in either Ubuntu or LinuxMint as I have
a good running system here in LinuxLite which I like and will recommend!

I can't remember if Google turns on hardware acceleration by default and
am quite sure they don't care if you can't open the browser in a VirtualBox running
Debian > Ubuntu > LinuxMint/LinuxLite. Probably not a priority.

I'll keep looking at it though.
Hats off to the programmers for Linux that make distros work so well with VirtualBox.

Just curious if anyone has used command line modifiers (property of the launch Icon) to turn hardware acceleration off?
Yep, I will switch to solved (want to see if anyone has a response to this first - so letting it stay open for just a bit, I may
find the answer with command line myself and post).

Latest on this is that the command line parameter will work to disable the gpu.

In Edit mode of the Google Chrome startup parameter (right click Google Chrome Icon > Edit)

Was: /usr/bin/google-chrome-stable %U
Is: /usr/bin/google-chrome-stable %U --disable-gpu

Do note if you remove the Google Chrome Icon from the Panel and then put it back you will need to edit the parameter as noted above in the "Is:" mode above.

This is a solved, closed issue.
Disabled Hardware Acceleration in Chromium solved the problem.

Yes, I have turned it off and have played 1 video in Facebook.
I gotta find more than one but it appears switching that setting off looks successful!
I kinda suspected this but your post prompted me to look.
I just worked around by using Firefox (the lazy person's way of doing things).

Perhaps you need to turn off Hardware Acceleration in your Chromium browser.  Go to the Settings of your browser.  Scroll to the bottom to open Advanced Settings.  Then scroll to the "System" section and disable Hardware Acceleration. 

I'm not sure if that's the issue, but I know disabling hardware acceleration solved the Chromium issue in my LL 3.0 VM.  I was hearing YouTube audio but not seeing the video until I disabled the hardware acceleration.

I recently bought a new HP Envy 750 with built in Video Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 [Display adapter]
LinuxLite is running inside Virtual Box.
(I installed it on 6/1/2016)
Commend this release, reminds me of LinuxMint. I was a tinkerer but now just want my OS to work :-)

All below inside Virtual Box:
Ubuntu 16.04 Unity - Chromium and Chrome do not work (corrupted screen) Firefox works.
LinuxMint 17.3 Cinnamon - Chromium and Chrome do not work (corrupted screen) Firefox works.
LinuxLite 3 - Chromium works but when trying to play videos in Facebook, said videos are corrupt. Firefox works.

Just curious if this was a known issue as I can get buy on Firefox just fine but my preference is Chrome.
