After installing LL, are you setting the res. on the laptop to a viewable setting and disabling the other monitor from turning on?

Do you have a spare monitor you can plug into the laptop at boot up? If so, you can use the good resolution on the monitor to set a usable resolution on the laptop.

The joke is, upon plugging in the laptop to the screen. Both screens are absolutely fine! There aren't any drivers to install, but the screen immediately goes back to before when restarted.

I've tried messing around with resolutions to no avail. I don't know what about screen mirroring is changing this.

I don't know it you have access to the boot parameters (avanced menu or edit) it in boot menu but found this :

Re: Linux Kernel 5.0 and 5.2 screen corruption and tearing
Using the kernel boot param "iommu=soft" fixes both screen corruption issue and suspend/resume.

Hi all,
Apologies if this is something that is covered somewhere - if it is, please point me towards it. I'm fairly new to Linux. Installed Linux on my HP Stream 14 (fairly bad laptop so looking to breathe some new life into it lol)

Performed a clean install of Linux lite 5.4 and was greeted by this upon login. Before login it's completely fine. Install was fine too. Booting off USB has the same result and for some reason it won't let me into safe mode, it just hangs.
