[SOLVED] Nvidia gtx 750 ti

(1/1)

Jerry:
Hi t6bill, support for the 750ti was added in nvidia driver version 334.21 Currently LL offers the 331.38 driver. If you're confident on the command line you can install it with this guide - http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2014/03/install-nvidia-driver-334-21-ubuntu-linux/

ChrisL:
Hi,  If you are 64 bit I believe this is the latest:  http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/79413/en-us

I am using these drivers but for a GeForce 9600 GT (also supported).  That 750 ti looks like a cranking card by the way:  http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/video_lookup.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+750+Ti&id=2815

I did a safe graphics install and then used this procedure to add a ppa and then loaded the new drivers through the Additional Drivers Utility:

http://www.binarytides.com/install-nvidia-drivers-ubuntu-14-04/

I removed the ppa after installation of the drivers.
If you don't add the ppa you will not get the latest drivers, but I think that there should be some available (331.XX maybe??) which may work fine.

Good luck!

Chris

t6bill:
I would like to upgrade from my onboard graphics and really like the nvidia GTX 750ti cards.   Are drivers, etc., available?  Anyone running one now?   I'm using Linux Lite 2.0 in a home-built system.  Thanks!
