Though you have the option, you don't normally need to change the server location so don't worry about that.

The update error looks like a variation on one when an update process is already active when a second update process is initiated.

You just need to wait for the first update to finish. Immediately after a fresh install, the first update may take a significant time - depending on your network connection and hardware spec - so you may need to be patient.

Apologies first no knowledge of Linux have used Win til now so definitely a newbie  :)

Just installed LL 6.2 on Welcome screen install updates enter admin password til I had approximately 200 updates pressed Continue til error log reported as far I make out 2 error so pasted Error log as suggested.
Noticed the server were US not UK hadn't changed the cache. As I understand it will mean I have to change it before updating or installing new software. That is something else on this steep learning curve I got to learn but I always liked a challenge.

Go to and paste the log below into the Software - Support - Updates section for assistance.
