You will get better performance if LL is installed to a hard drive or SSD. If you do not want it on your PC permanently, LL can also be installed to a flash drive of 8GB or larger (16GB or more is recommended), but it will be less responsive...

If you want to use it beyond a reboot, then yes, you should install.

     The Live environment is not very useful for everyday use, it is as I understand it just so you can get a feel of what Linux Lite is like and see if you want to install it.  As far as I know it is not set up to be able to save any information and whatever you do will be lost on reboot.  So in my opinion yes it is best to install it before doing anything important.

I used universal usb installer and put LL on a usb stick.  Do I have to run  Install  after I boot to the stick? :)
