I have a question.

If I use another compositor such as Compton, does that prevent me from making the panel transparent?

Can I run Compton and also check the "enable compositing" button Window Manager Tweaks?

I do want a transparent dock panel at the bottom.

Thanks!

Len

Okey I've made a dock but the problem is it always stays on the top of any window and uses part of a screen. Is there any option to make it behind the window..?  No auto-hides because you still get the position line where it's hidden.
Not that I know of. Try installing  some of the dock applications like wbar or cairo dock.

As I posted in this thread in Reply #14 on: January 25, 2015, 05:35:50 PM, I like a dock too. It can be done easily with an XFCE panel by itself. No need for a dock program. :)

I like to run the Panel at the top of the screen and install Cairo Dock to run at the bottom, it's VERY similar to MacOS when configured this way.  I must admit, I much prefer the right-click over the combo Ctrl+click!

Thanks, misko_2083. Coming from Mac OS X in January 2014, I like a dock. I learned how to make my panel look like a dock a year ago. Your tutorial will be very helpful to newbies.

No need to apologize. We can't always stick strictly to the topic. Anyway I like what you've done with the panel. :)

As for the other part, I'm not a forum moderator and therefore I can't remove posts or move them to a new thread.
