re Setting Chrome as Default Browser

I concluded that the ""Failed to execute child process "/home/Colin/Desktop/google-chrome.desktop" (Permission denied)." problem was caused by the "Preferred Application " app being told the wrong location of the Bin file for Chrome

I used "Synaptic" Search > Chrome / Properties/ Installed Files then looked for the Bin file location and copied it (/usr/bin/google-chrome-stable)and pasted it into the Preferred Aplication Browser default "OTHER"box and it works (If Chrome asks if you want it to be default click NO as clicking yes cancels the option you just set to work
.
The only thing I have found that it does not set the Default Browser for is Main MENU / Help Manual

Thanks for bringing it to our attention Colin, an oversight on my behalf :(

Colin23erk:
Thank you for responding and changing the link .

It must be a nightmare keeping them correct . As the internet is rife with links , some are bound to be wrong or broken . It would be helpful to everyone concerned if once a link has been provided it was automatically updated when it was changed. ------Dream ON ?
