Title: Lite Tweaks >> One Click Optimization
Post by: Nanayaw on August 27, 2020, 11:45:11 AM
Hello All,

I like to suggest a "One Click Optimization" Function at Linux LIte Tweaks
see picture

I think it could be used in different ways
> Start Up >> PC if fresh after new start
> Shot Down  >> PC if fresh for new start
> At other menues like Favorites or bottom bar

I think it will be a very good features for people didn't have to much computer experiance

Greetings

OK, I'm all for it, but what operations would be conducted exactly? Like, emptying caches and the like?

Hello UglyStuff

As Standard settings I suggest following

> Clear Memory
> Firefox Cache
> Thumbnail Cache
> Whisker Menu

?? Kernel Remover >> I got the experiance if there are more as needed kernels avaiable my pc is a little slower
but I also could be wrong with that, but if it have a real influence on the speed then it
                                  also should be in standard.

Greetings

Be careful with kernel Remover, it needs to leave at least 1 previous kernel then the one in use.
If problems occur you can always go back to the previous one, if you delete all you are in trouble!

I'm happy for someone to submit the code for this. I will then review and add it to Lite Tweaks.

Optimize will have to:

- Clear Memory
- Web browser Cache
- Log Archives
- Package Cache
- SystemD Log Cleaner
- Thumbnail Cache
- Trash Bin
- Whisker Menu

'One Click Optimization' button will have to go down the bottom next to Quit and Begin.

The 'At Start Up' and At Shut Down' options can be added in a later version.

I like Lite Tweaks just the way it is in LL 5.0 allows the user to pick and choose what gets cleared out and or removed.
Even for the new Linux user if they read what they click on it explains what is going to happen and rather it's safe to use or use with caution what more is needed.
It's a good system cleaner the way it is why not leave a good working program as it is.
Only my opinion.
