Dear skube, I tried the Droid Sans Mono font in terminal but found it to be unsuitable, due to its confusingly similar lowercase L and numeral 1.
YMMV. My usage is 23" LED display @1920x1080, 96DPI, full font hinting, font scaling 1.0, font size 10pt, ...and 1.75+ diopter lenses on my reading glasses

FWIW, I like a bright green or amber color text on a black background for an unmistakably old-school look.

Not to say that white on black wasn't a thing back in the day - I had some fun with the RadioShack Model III.

We've changed the terminal theme that many times, I'd like to stick to the current one through Series 3.x If you change the same thing too many times in a short period of time, people get annoyed. I'm certainly open to suggestions for themes for Series 4.x :)

Droid font is an "older package" in Ubuntu based on Linux Lite's adoption:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/ja/trusty/fonts-droid
http://packages.ubuntu.com/ja/xenial/fonts-droid-fallback

It was temporarily deleted, but it is left as a display support for some flavors.
Instead of switching to Google Noto Fonts. Please be aware of this point.

Just a suggestion as I think a little colour (and style) goes a long way in helping new users.

The Terminal is one of the four apps chosen to be showcased on the Panel right out of the box. And yet, it's not that appealing to use and I think it could definitely be more welcoming.

As a better example, take a look at ElementaryOS' default Terminal:

It's cool yet calm. Slightly softer and more inviting. The font (Droid Sans Mono) is a little more welcoming with slightly more breathable line spacing. Colour is tastefully applied and offers hints at discrete information.

Droid Sans is already included in LL so adding Droid Sans Mono wouldn't be too outrageous.  :D

It may be a little thing but if LL is truly trying to appeal to the new gnu/linux user then I would think they would want to make it as inviting as possible.
