Title: Hotkey to take screenshot
Post by: eikelein on April 26, 2019, 10:40:41 AM
Hi;I need to take a screenshot of a small region of the screen that shows what is important only while the mouse cursor points on a displayed item. As soon as I move the mouse to the screenshot window to press OK the display of what needs to be shown vanishes.Could a screenshot be triggered by a hotkey? (Windows parlance, I know).TIAEike

Hotkeys are listed in the Help Manual near the top of the Start page, including the one for screenshots.

@Jerry,Thank you very much. But it is not the HOW of opening the screenshot program. Differently formulated the question is:
While the screenshot program is open and set to region a.s.o. I need the mouse to pull up the list of available WL networks and take screenshot of that; Th elist os only shown while the mouse cursor is pointed to the list.
To take the screenshot I need to move the focus to the screenshot program to click on it's OK button. That click takes the focus away from the list of WL networks and thus that list vanishes long before I ever have a chance to click on OK.
Regards
Eike

Hello eikelein,

on the screenshot program above the Okay button (#1 on screenshot)  is  "Delay before capturing", below this you can use the arrow keys (#2 on screenshot) to increase the number of seconds before the screenshot is taken.

After changing the delay time, even though you move off to click the Okay button the screenshot will be taken after the number of seconds chosen, so giving you time to move the cursor to where you wish.

Example - Once "Okay" is pressed the screenshot program Window disappears, and the delay time begins, I then used the 5 seconds time to navigate the LL menu and open another screenshot window, the first instance where I clicked "Okay" then took the screenshot of the second instance of the program, at the agreed time, as above.
