Hey guys....it was a bios thing  but dummy me, I saw that the Legacy thing was already enabled and then about 2 hours later while watching TV  the answer poped into my head.  I didn't click on the options about USB keyboard and mouse because I didn't think I had that but then I realized ....The receiver for the wireless is plugged into a USB PORT.   So after going back into bios and enabling them  IT NOW WORKS     SO THANKS for helping out this big dummy!
I should change my handle to BigDummy. ;D

I have not had any issues with using Wireless KBD/Mouse on any of my installs.

I did have an issue with a friends PC,
In the BIOS there was an option I think it was called "enable Legacy USB Support" needed ticking for a MS Wireless KBD/Mouse
Maybe worth checking for something like that..??

I don't think that's grub issue.  Might be due to age of computer (if particularly old).  Though I've just tested using wireless mouse/keyboard combo on a 2002 Pentium 4 machine and it does work during boot-up, so that might not be it.  (Can hit the left-SHIFT key during boot to invoke grub menu and can manoeuvre in the menu with up/down arrow keys.)  I've got a different computer (~4yrs. old) hooked-up to my TV that I've had set-up with wireless mouse/keyboard combo from the start.  That works fine in grub too.

A wild guess might be that only certain USB ports are immediately recognized during boot and others may not be initialized until OS gets loaded.  Try plugging the wireless USB receiver into different ports -- particularly the ones on the back of computer instead of front.

Since you're testing with Grub......My biggest complaint is that Grub does not recognize my
wireless Logitech  keyboard.  If I want to make different selections with Grub I have to plug in an old wired keyboard.    I know this is  LL  site  but just letting you know.  It's irritating.
