Not solved here.

I had suspend right here after an update some time ago, but after a recent update the problem was there once again.
Every second time I suspend and boot, the pc holds for about three-quarter of a minute.
For the rest no problem.

No big deal, but a little strange in my opinion.

The OP's thread is solved. If you are having trouble, please start your own thread. Thanks.

After receiving some updates I have been exploring the settings in the Power Manager further. The updates had not changed anything and when set to lockscrean on closing lid, my laptop failed to suspend as it did before.

I returned the setting to susupend and have since found (in the security tab) a tab unticked Lock screan when system is asleep. I have now ticked this and although my settings are different to my original set up, I can now shut the lid to suspend the system and get asked for my password upon opening the lid. Eureka!

Many thanks to anyone who took the time to read or research this problem.

After speaking with a friend and adjusting settings in the power manager, to opt for suspend, my laptop behaves as I would like but does not ask me for my password onto opening it back up.

It would appear I and looking for a combination of suspend and lockscreen....

Last week, I had to take Linux lite 3.6 off my laptop and reinstall it, due to a crash after installed and restarting after updates.

When I closed the lid previously my laptop, it would temporary shutdown, leaving one light flashing at the front. It always asked for my password when the lid was reopened.

Now my laptop is being strange. At the weekend if I closed the lid, it would not ask me for my password when opening the lid. My settings for closing the lid were set to lockscreen in the power manager. A friend and I could not understand this but in the end I changed the setting to suspend and then changed it back to lockscreen. This worked and it now asks for my password!

I still have an issue though. Two lights on the front of my laptop remain on and it makes low level noise as if still running. I would like it to operate as before, quiet with only one light flashing. Any ideas?

Thank you for taking the time to read and I would appreciate any help offered.

P.S. I am a novice and my knowledge is basic.
