Right click on the button>Properties>Show Confirmation Dialogue - tick it.

I don't see that. I right clicked on the button at bottom right of Menu - nothing happens; then I added the icon/button to Panel - right clicking>Properties just shows launcher properties but nothing like that.

Perhaps you mean some other button?
Is it a button in the Whisker Menu? If so there is a Behaviour tab in the properties.
Logout command that displays the dialog is:     xfce4-session-logout

I don't see any Properties option...

But I have solved it - Settings>Session & Startup>Logout Settings>select Prompt on Logout. That fixed it.

When clicking on the Logout icon, the circular green one at the right hand end of Menu,  I used to get a logout options window showing suspend, logout, shut down, re-start etc. Now it immediately closes my open applications and logs me out. This is a very recent install of LL4.8, updated.

I do have Power settings set to Suspend when I press the power button, and that works ok, but I'd like to know why the previous way no longer works.

I checked on another computer with LL4.6 and it works as usual, with options window.

many thanks in anticipation.
