Hello again,

I'm totally sorry. It's as easy as just have to pull the language that you want above 'English' and click 'apply for system'.
It took me a while to notice that the order is important and you can change this order by moving the languages. My normal system is Linux Mint and I would say the language settings are a bit more intuitive there. But Linux Lite is a great system for low power PCs!

So thanks for answering.

PS: Now I just have to worry about the problem that the notebook is not shutting down respectively freezing during shut down.

Hello rayon,

Are these the instructions you followed?  https://www.linuxliteos.com/manual/install.html#language.

Hello,

I want to switch the system language to German. To do so I followed the description given here in the forum.

Update --> language support

It's checking the language support but doesn't ask me to install a new language pack (I told the system to make German the system language.).

So I thought maybe the German language pack is already there. In the list of languages there is "German", but it's grey. So I cannot activate German.

If I click on 'Install / Remove Languages' there is already a tick at German.

If I deinstall the German language pack and install it again nothing changes.

I don't know what else I can do. Is it possible to install the language package just as a normal package with apt-get ?
