Actually, I use all three, for different purposes. Each has a different approach. Let's say... "doing better one specific task".

[...] The Webcam Booth (Cheese) takes pics and videos well, but there is no audio in the videos.
I gave up using this. Is very old and does nothing "top-notch".

Here is what I use:
SimpleScreenRecorder
Desktop screencast. Probably the best available in the Linux world.
Vokoscreen
Way better than Cheese, but very different from SimpleScreenRecorder.
For screenshots, I use the internal "PrintScreen" assigned App. I forgot the name, I guess it's something like "xfce4-screenshot" or the like. If you want something more professional for screenshots, you can try searching with Google, but I am please with the XFCE's tool. Flexible enough for what I need.
You can also use at some extent VLC's screenshot capabilities.

Hi, I have Linux-Lite 5.0 and downloaded Webcam Booth from the Lite Software source. The Webcam Booth (Cheese) takes pics and videos well, but there is no audio in the videos. When I open the video file, it opens with VLC media player. I made sure in VLC tools that audio was enabled. What could be the problem? I have a built in webcam on my pc. I know my mic works, because in the audio mixer, I can see the blue line moving when I speak in the microphone setting.
