A confirmation for anyone considering one of these cards is they work in Linux Lite.
Just bought one to replace my Auzentech Forte 7.1 and it works flawlessly in Linux Lite with full analogue direct out, (tested with 5.1) and with sp/dif optical out.
Also if you're a audiophile like me I can confirm the sound is outstanding.
One thing you may be puzzled by is if you do a lspci in terminal it will show up as a Asmedia USB 3 controller, I believe it uses the USB protocol to communicate with the onboard DAC so presents itself as a USB device. The Pulse Audio mixer correctly identifies it as a Strix soundcard though so all's good!
