Hi I seem to have solved the problem myself! The sound config was set at analog duplex. I chnaged it to analog stereo and no more noises and the sound seems fine!
Now for the music/ipod problem!

OK Here is the system report. I did download Realtke drivers from their website but when I unzipped the package and tried to open the readme file and the pdf I got a message saying no such file exists, so I guess I'm doing something wrong. I need to be told how to install a package that's not in the repo.
Her iPod is a new 16Gb touch so I suppose that won't be supported. Any other solutions? XP is SO slow on her machine she refuses to use it.
Many thanks

Banshee doesn't seem to be supported in Linux lite. Clementine has no option to import CDs that I can see.
I use Deadbeef which imports CD's but it's not in the repo's
If you download the portable version which unpacks into a self contained folder with the Deadbeef script to click on in it but there's a .deb there to.

I have it unpacked on my data partition so all my other OS's use the same app and I don't have to keep installing it, I do the same with Firefox and my FX profiles, I was pleased when Deadbeef worked when I tried out Manjaro so I guess it would work on OpenSUSE.

Hi pamdo, please attach a system report as explained here - https://www.linuxliteos.com/manual/hardware.html#report Thank you.

For gtkpod, is the device supported? Only some Gen devices are, see here - http://www.gtkpod.org/wiki/Home under 'Status of Supported Hardware'

Hi I installed Linux lite 2.2 for my friend on her old Sony Vaio VGN-FS415E. Everything is great except for 2 things:
the most annoying is a horrible intermittent very loud crackling from the speakers. I have Linux lite installed in dual boot with Windows XP and there is no noise in XP. How can I get rid of the noise?

Secondly, she wants to manage her new iPod with Linux lite. I have installed gtkpod but what should I use to import CDs? If I copy them, the wav files are too big and Banshee doesn't seem to be supported in Linux lite. Clementine has no option to import CDs that I can see.

Many thanks
