Hi,

Not sure, but the output "dummy" does not look correct.?
I don't see that on my install, and it looks like it is "ticked" as the fall-back device, top right.
Sorry, can't be of more help.

Hi Dyslexic1,

I had something similar in my early days...
You have probably checked.?
On the Volume screen Output devices I had a drop down.
I could see the volume blue bar moving, but no sound.
It was set incorrectly set to Headphones in my case.

Thanks for reply it's not that I clicked most buttons with video sound playing.  On Volume Control the (Output Devices) TAB the blue line is going up and down with sound.

Speakers do work I have tried on another computer.

First of all I don't know what I'm doing with Linux.  :-[

I did look to see when I installed Lite on this computer no found in System information.
Read can see in oldest file in /boot don't know if that USA date style or UK 3rd month or 5th Month 2014 so it's been sometime with not sound since the start of last year.

I tried adding install updates drivers & tab additional drivers - But there No additional drivers available.

Also did create system report and got info below about sound card, looked here on forms did a search look.
From system info show I using Linux 3.13.0

Quote
===========================================================
Sound Information
===========================================================

**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: ICH5 [Intel ICH5], device 0: Intel ICH [Intel ICH5]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: ICH5 [Intel ICH5], device 4: Intel ICH - IEC958 [Intel ICH5 - IEC958]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

So is there no drivers to get sound sorting on this computer
to add there no sound from website MP3 from hardrive or CD I do have VLC as player have also looked at sound setting clicked about not change. Looked here to file:///usr/share/doc/litemanual/index.html

Thanks
