Title: [SOLVED[ Volume Control Icon - How to Restore?
Post by: gwilson on June 21, 2014, 02:00:02 PM
I was trying to clear the annoying Skype icon from the notification area (near keyboard and battery monitor icons) and inadvertently deleted the volume control icon. I can't find any way to restore it to the panel. Can anyone help me with this?  Thanks

I was trying to clear the annoying Skype icon from the notification area ...

Don't know if you figured out this part of your question yet, so here's how to do that just in case you didn't.

Right-click on an empty spot in the notification area and choose "Properties".  (Make sure your right-click shows that it is the "Notification Area" and not one of the individual icons in it.  See screenshot below.)

In properties window for Notification Area you will see a list of "Known Applications" with check boxes next to them.  Just check off the ones you want "Hidden".  When you're done, they won't show and there will be an arrow in the notification area.  You can click that arrow to un-hide and re-hide the icons.
