Install Microsoft Office
#1
Good afternoon All.

I'm a recent user of Linux and Linux Lite.

I'm trying to install Microsoft Office on Linux Lite, as I tried (and succeeded to do, on Zorin OS).

Installed Wine and PlayonLinux, executed some terminal commands and tried several other solutions without success.

I would like to know if someone as a solution to install Office 2010 or Office 2014.

Thank you in advance for the support you may provide.

Best regards.

The versions you selected will work best in an XP vm. Use gnome-boxes or virt-manager to run XP. Images are available. Then if you are installing office from old CDs install to the XP vm. Samba or Spice will allow you file sharing.

May I ask what you need old MS Office for? I may be able to give you a better alternative than running these old suites. Be aware that MS Office versions and functionality are not neccessarily completely compatible with each other. They are not truly standardized like LibreOffice or Apache OpenOffice. As usual MS just bought their so-called standardization when Google docs began to take market share away.
