I'm currently testing this on LL7.2 with the Xubuntu experimental PPA. Honestly all is quite promising. The link below displays some of my results.

Well GIMP 3.0 stable has been released so I gave it whirl as well on LL 7.2 with experimental wayland support. Worked quite nicely and is decently improved. See link below:

I also noticed that Lite-Updates ran with sudo -E from the terminal with no graphical errors reported so I think systemd can be setup with a startup service environment control for it and it will run fine. Anyway forging on.
