No sound device found after kernel update
#1
Last week, the Lite system updates included a kernel update to 6.8.60  Since that update, I have been unable to get Lite to recognize my sound card.  Specifically the headphone port where I plug in my speakers is no longer detected.  Looking at the sound mixer, all I have is Dummy Output as a sound device.

I can get sound if I plug in a USB headset, and I get sound remotely from the system if I connect to it via NoMachine, both are treated as separate sound devices from my sound card.

My system is multi-boot, and the headphone port does work when I am booted to Kubuntu, so this is not a hardware problem.

I have tried reinstalling pulseaudio, pipewire, and alsa.  I am not sure what else to try at this point and need advice.

You could try booting Lite from the previous working kernel to confirm the earlier kernel recognizes the sound hardware correctly.  Using the grub menu to select a specific kernel via the advanced options should work.  I guess you are familiar with this as you have a multi-boot system.

An alternative method could be reverting to a System Restore (aka Timeshift) snapshot taken before the kernel update.
Do you have a recent snapshot taken before the kernel update ?
