Ok  i have place at this old p4 optiplex 745 a agp video card
it shows fine  with windows. BUT with linux lite 3.8 32bits it shows 256 but the card is  512

Open a Terminal, what does inxi -G show?

there is no problem.I thing if the it shows the real 512 mgs maybe work  (show) screen faster ??
I have try  other  card in the same slot with 1g and yes  it shows the same.
I install windows 7 32 bit on the same pc  and when I update the drivers, both cards show the correct info and yes they bring screen faster.
I be able to live that way to if there is no work around lol.

I wouldn't worry about it showing the incorrect amount, as long as everything works as it should.

Finally going to upgrade from my old 750ti FTW card to something new. Going with a 4k monitor. What is a good sub $200 4k card to look at. No games here, this is just web browsing, Youtube, movies and TV streaming,. If I do play a game it would be WoW and I would prob not play it in 4k and I might play WoW for an hour every 3-4 months. So main task of this will be videos.
