"Disk write filters not supported"
#1
Hello.  I installed 4.2 today on my main laptop after having a great experience with 3.8 on an old laptop I use in the garage.  After installation, on boot up a text message, "Disk write filters not supported", displays temporarily with the option to hit enter to continue.  It subsequently proceeds to boot up without action from the user.  It does not appear to have any effect on system performance after loggin in, only a slight delay during the boot up.  Research reveals it as a bug, dating back several years, in the grub with several different solutions.  I was wondering someone from the community has, or knows of, a preferred "correct" way to resolve, and more importantly the cause of it.  Thanks.

I had it on laptop and it said it every time I booted it I used it few months but I needed to get rid of the OS (temporarily) so I cleared the HDD and I am getting my temp install to 64GiB portable storage.
No performance problems
No support problems
Does your computer awake instantly if you put it to sleep/suspend?

I do not see the error with
Live USB stick.

I am not sure if it appears when running OS from external HDD/SSD

Re installed to HDD with manual partitioning and it doesn't occur anymore so maybe it's LVM bug because I had LVM on when first time installed the OS

installed on different laptop with LVM enabled and it doesn't appear anymore so it is very weird. Maybe with same hdd and laptop again later( maybe in next year it is my laptop and now I am not re installing LL?

Results:
Hardware B LVM not enabled  = Nothing
Hardware B LVM enabled        = Nothing
Hardware A LVM not enabled  = Nothing
Hardware A LVM enabled        = appeared in the past
Hardware A LVM enabled tried with second install = ?

I have the identical problem. The LL feather logo is in the background, if that means anything.
jerryc, not to be confused with the real Jerry who developed this distro.
