screen flicker - nvidia
#1
Hi all. I'm new to the forms and fairly new to using Linux. I have Lite installed on an older laptop, running Nvidia graphics and I get a bad/unusable flicker when I open graphic intense applications (ie game), or even certain browsers (Vivaldi).. In any browser, google maps will also trigger this flicker.
I've tried the workarounds I've seen such as using CompizConfig's workaround  "Force full screen redraws (buffer swap) on repaint" but no luck..
I've tried all three of the drivers shown in the screenshot but same issue.

Hi,

You "tried all three drivers", I assume 'nouveau' was one of them?

Modern, graphics intensive software won't run well on old hardware

As just an update. I followed the steps via command line to uninstall the display driver, reboot and reinstall the Nvidia legacy driver. This seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks for the support!
