This is more than likely a problem with Firefox and not Linux Light as it appears to be a problem on other O/S.
Firefox had problems with 38 and I was grateful to quickly find that 39 was readily available from the software package manager in LL. Downloaded it and it has been crashing ever since. Tried to fix with ALL their suggestions to no avail. It crashes almost immediately and constantly and is basically unusable. Tried fresh download and if anyone might have a suggestion other than the ones recommended by Firefox I would love to hear them. Using the only alternatives I have left which is Google Chrome which crashes on hulu 30 mimutes into video with regularity (as it does also in opera) as both are based on Chromium and I have to use Epiphany for hulu and other videos.

Hello!

I'm also crashing FF 39. Therefore, I started poking around in ~/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports/pending, and opened up some text files there.

I found out the problem had to do with freshplayer, which is supposed to let the Pepper Flash Player for Chrome run in Firefox. Apparently, it's still quite buggy.

I removed freshplayer using apt-get, and so far (knock wood), no more crashes. If your Firefox is also crashing, this might be something for you to look into...

Thanks again for your help. I started looking around also and in my case it was also pepper flash which makes sense since it is based on Chromium and Chromium has been crashing on hulu. I removed it and so far so good. Actually I installed that myself as Firefox was not updating their shock-wave flash player in a timely manner and in fact had blocked it for a while due to all the news about all the breaches that have been found (3 in one week), while Adobe was not addressing the problems. Google Chrome did update and so it made sense to me to add pepper.
