I had the "Install Updates could not fetch the package cache information lists." message and solved it by SUDO APT UPDATE, then rerunning install Packages

Hi,
I'm not not sure how this is related to my concern. I can "install update" successfully when I do it manually. The issue at hand is the icon on the system tray does not notify when there are new updates available.
