Greetings! Relatively new user to Linux, I worked with Mint for a year but when my hard drive hosed I decided to give Linux Lite a try and I must say I am very impressed. So far everything is working well but I have one minor annoyance which disturbs an anal-retentive individual such as myself. After installing everything I did when I normally did when installing Linux Mint and other distros, I installed Libre Office forgetting the Linux Lite had it.
To my surprise, when I click on Menu->Office I see TWO listings for Word Processor, SpreadSheet and Presentation. Everything works superbly but this is just a minor annoyance. I see that I can HIDE the icons but my concern is that if I tell it to hide one of the
Word Processor listings....both will do so.
Any suggestions? Thanks for reading.

Hi.
Search for "menu editor" in the menu.
There you can edit all menu entries to your liking and also find the once that are hidden.

A question:
Do you really need both versions?
Because LibreOffice is designed exactly this way: You can install two different versions aside.
My question arises from the fact that I had trouble with the default LibreOffice version which comes with the LL distro and I had to replace it with an older version that actually works.
The trouble I had with the provided version, was that it broke all my tables and I make a heavy use of LibreOffice and have tens of thousands of
.odf files in my archive.
If you tested the default installation and works fine, than you can uninstall the "extra" installation, via Synaptic Package Manager.
I do it after every new (clean) Linux Lite Install if I get into trouble so it's a proven solution.

Hope this will help you.
The Menu Editor solution, only removes the links from the menu, leaving the installation where it is and you'll end up being unable to run one of the LibreOffice's instances.

If you experience problems with your current version of LibreOffice, you can do fresh re-install.

I removed LibreOffice using package manager but found the icons were still in the menu so I used Menu editor to remove them. All seems to be working well now. Thanks for the suggestions!

Hi!

Glad you made it!
Please, mark the topic [
Solved]. Enter the
Modify mode on the first post and you'll find a ComboBox
(Up, Left) with some prefix there. Choose the [
Solved] one. That will point people to this solution and help them skip the waste of time to search any further.
Best regards!
