OS fixer/updater

I mean something like windows repair disc. It would be easy to to add a option to reinstall only system but leave /home untouched. It would also help updating to the next series or from another linux based distro. I have seen many users with unfixable system but they don't want to loose their own data or copy it to another location

SystemBack did that on previous versions of LL.  You can still get it (here), but unless someone has stepped up support it, it may be outdated soon.
