Having had a look at the AMD link, it may well be the AMD drivers installation added unwanted repositories to your system. Suspending the archive repository from the update list has allowed update/upgrade to work.
But this is not a good solution.
It might be best to re-install LL7 and then install Firefox using the Lite Software tool. Then update/upgrade and check everything works.
Make backups and system restore snapshot so that you can recover to that point easily.
Once you've done that, install your other software.
Take care to check that any software you install has a version compatible with Ubuntu 24.04.
If you try the Lite Software tool as a first option and Package Manager as second option you should avoid problems.
