Seems like things have gone down hill for you after you used the gui installer. I did a new install on this Compaq Laptop yesterday on a new internall SSD. It is a close match to your video chip by one number.
you won't get a inxi command found. I installed inxi viain my install.

I chose a propriety one as it seems open-source ones don't seem fit for games. I clicked "Apply Changes", and a bar loaded up and took a while to complete, so I assumed that was it installed,
