Can't test LinuxLite 7.6 in a virtual machine
#8
-> Are you able to do anything with the host or VM after the install freezes ?
Yes, as you can see in previos images, I opened VLC, Chrome and terminal in the VM. The host run perfectly.
-> Does the host system show anything in the vbox.log file ?
It's very long and say everithing on the virtual hardware but I've not found any row for the applications used on the VM. I've found mentions for CPU, memory, network, disk, interrupt, all with relative timing.
-> Is the VM totally locked or are there any signs of life - like disk activity or the VM clock still updating ?
The VM keep running as Live, the Virtualbox resource monitor on the host show little network activity and zero or really low disk activity. If I open Chrome, obviuously the network activity raises up.
-> Does pressing Ctrl Alt T work in the VM while the VM is frozen ?
Yes it work. I can digit commands and shutdown or reboot the machine from terminal. Also the Print button on the keyboard open the Screenshot utility. The VM is not completely frozen, only the install laucher is.
These are the last lines after lauch the install, from /var/log/dpkg.log from the VM, still in Live mode.

This is all I can find, sorry. Thank you again
