I noticed from your captures that the icon set seems to be Numix?
I was on another distro and Numix has an option to customise Folder colors/shapes, would that be included if Numix is the icon set?
Also, please have the option in Setting/Appearance to have a dark theme and dark windows backgrouds instead of white/pale grey.
It's easier on the eyes... and in some aspect the electrical bill.
- Firefox already has a "dark theme" available too.
