There are different version for Linux 32 Bit and Linux 64 Bit.
There is also a web interface, it seems to need a login, the sketches are stored in the cloud with the web based.
Yes Arduino Uno R3 works with the standard Arduino IDE, you have to install, and a driver, then set the COM port and board (uno) in the menus of GUI, it can be used for many Arduino models so is why to select which board you using at the time etc.
There are some pre-loaded sketches in the library and you can also write your own and save them for later.
