Install Linux Lite 2.0 in UEFI Mode (Dual Boot Windows 8)
#4
@Valtam,

I think I've asked this before, but can't remember the answer.  Is the LL install ISO actually missing something needed for UEFI/EFI installations?

Reason I ask is because while helping someone on this post, it was revealed that the live LL disk could be booted in EFI mode.

That person ended up installing in Legacy mode, but my suspicion is that if LL can boot in EFI mode, it can be installed that way too.  (That's what I don't know for sure and can't test myself because I don't have a UEFI machine.)  The video you posted is very good and gives a lot of info on how to convert from Legacy to EFI mode installation, but all of that may be completely unnecessary if LL can actually be installed in EFI mode to begin with.

@N4RPS,

If Valtam replies that nothing is actually taken out of the ISO to prevent UEFI/EFI installations, you may want to give these instructions a try when you get your new machine back and have made Windows 8 recovery disks:
[TUTORIAL] Installing Mint on a Windows 8/8.1 Computer.

It's a Mint tutorial, but same steps will apply to LL.
