installing 3.2 and keep home folder intact
#5
So 3.2 was installed with my /home folder intact. Yet. . . as Jerry said there will be unexpected results.
First one I noticed: no Lite Desktop Widget in Sessions and startup. see

This is what is left of Lite Control Centre. I know it's no around. How do I get rid of this bit and how do I update Sessions and Start up?

Trivial issues -I think.
3.2 boots and loads just about as fast as 2.6 did.
Programs like Firejail had to be re-installed as it didn't come from Lite's repos in the first place.
Identified printer but having CUPS issues
Had to reset wallpaper

Can I downgrade the 4.4 kernel if it turns out to be causing problems with this old machine?

All in all, so far, even if I have to reinstall with creating new home partitions, I won't say it was  a wasted effort -just a learning one. Please, any input, suggestions are very welcome  Smile.
