I actually also started using Cherrytree some time back. It's no doubt a great program.
However, I've meanwhile moved on to Zim - A Desktop Wiki, which covers my needs even better.

What I like most about it:
- In case I don't have Zim available I can use any text editor to read or edit my files.
- Due to 1. I can simple synchronize my Zim notebooks to my phone and read/edit my files even on the go.
