This error indicates a faulty source.
Type sudo apt-get update in terminal, and you will find the faulty source near the end.
Then enter this into terminal: /usr/bin/software-properties-gtk --open-tab=1
And disable the faulty source.
In my case, the faulty source was google (which was added via chromium)
In summary the error is basically saying, "Hey you Admin, I can't guarantee your system will be up to date due to a faulty source. Please investigate and resolve the problem."
You see, that's a much better error message, and they should implement it except that they would have to add the word "probably".
