Ongoing Live CD tests
Fujitsu Siemens Amilo V3405 and Si1520 Similarly spec 2 GB RAM + Intel Dual core 1600.
Have complicated all functioning keyboards. Not identical layouts. Both currently running on Mint 13 - with no particular set up problems. UK English
wifi internet works etc no problems connecting.
Have not needed to test blue tooth or the other keys so can't comment on whether all the options function
Live cd LL..2.0 - can not find a way to get keyboards to function properly under live CD ( by mess = see below)- Hence unable to log onto wifi etc.
Therefore took the plunge and installed LL2.0 over Mint - clean install on the Amilo Si1520. Installation smooth although finding the English UK keyboard option (and layout routine typing in various keys and answering yes/no questions during installation) was not intuitive IMHO. Might put off a less determined newbie.
After installation keyboard output was still a mess . Hence went into menu>settings>keyboard>layout - unclicked default and then keyboard model - Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo laptop option and then English(UK) layout closed and went to keyboard icon on lower right of screen and still showed English US
Typing still gibberish. in that alt key function seems the be the default.?
Therefore rebooted.
Keyboard now seems to have overcome the locked alt on position but still showing/behaving as English US
Any ideas please. Ta
