My son has been using Linux Lite 1.08 for many months on a desktop with an Intel core 2 duo processor and we love it.
Today I'm trying out Linux Lite 2.0 Beta on our main computer. Even with the 3.13 kernel (which it seems doesn't like the MSI motherboard/AMD processor) the Live CD works beautifully, unlike many other Ubunbtu 14.04-based distros I've tried out lately. My HP printer/scanner works great, graphics work well, very low RAM usage.
My only concern is, it didn't find any proprietary drivers for my Nvidia graphics. When trying out Voyager 14.04 Live CD and some other XFCE distros, I had the option to install the propriety drivers. I wouldn't even care because the open source driver seemed to work fine using the Live CD. But then when I tried launching Firefox, the display went to hell with the crazy colors and lines and everything froze. If I were to install LL 2.0, would the open source driver work OK, or would I have an option to install the Nvidia driver?
