Yes, the RTL SDR(USB Stick) is very popular.
SDR Radio's are definitely the future.
I let WSPR run last night on 17M @ 2.0Watts
This morning I was surprised at where my signal was "spotted"
I have a temporary wire antenna @ 8M long at about 5M high.!
