Always a different theme when adding new user
#1
Hello,

I am quite new to Linux lite. My issue is that whenever I create a new user, the theme is completely different from the original Linux lite theme and I cannot seem to match it perfectly to the original.

Is there a way that I can set it to only have the original theme when creating another profile instead of the new theme below?
Does anyone know why this happens?

Thank you in advance.

That should not happen. It looks like the Lite 'branding' has not been applied to the login profiles of the new accounts.
What method do you use to create new users ?

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. I am creating a new user from the Lite User Manager tool > Add New User.
I did notice when using this method, I am getting an error "It was not possible to add user "username". System message: "b".
However, clicking Ok the error is gone and I can open and use the newly created account.

I would like to thank you as I believe I have found a workaround. I created the account from the terminal using the sudo adduser command and the profile is starting with the Original Linux lite theme instead of the new one.

Should I avoid using the Lite User Manager tool for creating users?

Thanks.

Lite User Manager usually works well. The cryptic error message is almost certainly significant.

I have had the problem you describe once and I've seen a couple of other posts in the forum which may have referenced the symptom. I can't recall what the trigger was but it may well have related to username conventions. My guess is that the basic account gets created, but perhaps related to the error, the GUI settings get messed up.

Would you mind posting the username of the second account that gives you the problem so I can try to reproduce.

Thank you.
